On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party, Dongfang Electric Group International Cooperation Co., Ltd. and the Egyptian joint venture company successfully signed the installation contract for the turbine generator set of the Zhulino Hydropower Station in Tanzania on the project site in Tanzania. Hesham, CEO of Egypt Eswadi, Chen Qiang, General Manager of Orient International, and the project teams of both parties attended the signing ceremony at the project site.

The total installed capacity of the Julino Hydropower Station is 2115MW, and 9 235MW vertical mixed-flow units are installed. Previously, Dongfang Electric Group International Cooperation Co., Ltd. and the Egyptian joint venture company signed a contract for the supply of main equipment including 9 hydropower generating units. After the completion of the project, it will greatly improve the power supply situation in Tanzania, reduce electricity costs, and inject strong impetus into social and economic development.

In 2021, Dongfang Electric will actively deploy overseas renewable energy markets in the face of the complex and volatile international situation, and contribute to the global response to climate change and the development of the Belt and Road Initiative. In recent years, Dongfang Electric Group has built a number of basic engineering projects in Tanzania, which not only guarantees Tanzania’s economic development, but also solves the employment of thousands of local people.
