Recently, Comrade Zheng Jian, deputy director of the Department of Infrastructure, went to Puding County and Zhenning County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province to investigate the planning and construction of the Huangtong-Baise Railway. According to the 14th Five-Year Plan for the National Economic and Social Development of the People’s Republic of China and the Outline of Long-Term Goals for 2035, the construction of the new western land-sea channel from Huangtong to Baise and the additional second-line railway between Guizhou and Guizhou were included in the column for the construction of a strong transportation country.

Huangbai Railway Project

The Huangbai Railway project starts in Puding County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province, passes through Zhenning County, Ziyun County, Wangmo County of Qianxinan Prefecture, Leye County and Lingyun County, Baise City, Guangxi Autonomous Region, and ends in Baise City, Guangxi Autonomous Region. The technical standards of the project are The single line is 160km/h, and the newly-built main line is 301.25 kilometers long, including 171.150 kilometers in Guizhou Province and 130.1 kilometers in Guangxi District. The estimated total investment of the project is 31.393 billion yuan and the total construction period is 5 years.

The project passed the feasibility study review organized by China Railway Group at the end of September 2020, and has now entered the deepening feasibility study (appraisal) and preliminary design stage, and construction is planned to start within this year.

Comrade Zheng Jian pointed out that the planning and construction of the Huangtong-Baise Railway is a landmark project for implementing the "Outline" of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and accelerating the construction of new land-sea corridors in the west. It is necessary to strengthen the coordination of regional road network resources, optimize the division of labor and cooperation, and accelerate the promotion of the corridor Capability matching and operation coordination among various sectors will speed up the advancement of preliminary work and create conditions for the project to start construction as soon as possible.
