Spanish solar company Onyx Solar announced that it has reached an agreement with Nigeria’s major financial institution Sterling Bank to install 6,500 square meters of crystalline silicon photovoltaic glass wrenches at its headquarters, which is currently under construction in Lagos, the capital of Nigeria. A statement from Onyx Solar stated that the project will be the largest integrated photovoltaic development project in Africa and is currently being implemented in coordination with the Nigerian energy company Privida.

It added that because of this integration, Sterling Bank will become a reference for Nigeria's modernity and sustainability. The installation of 3,250 crystalline silica glass devices will provide an installed capacity of up to 1MWp, which will greatly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and its ecological footprint. Onix Solar was established in Avila, Spain in 2009 to produce architectural photovoltaic glass. Its glass enables the building to generate clean and free energy, thanks to sunlight.

Onyx pointed out that in addition to train stations in the United States, hospitals in Norway, banks in Kenya, embassies in Indonesia, shopping malls in Mexico, and university colleges in Australia, many skyscrapers in Singapore, conference centers in Canada and tourist attractions in Dubai are installed. The photovoltaic glass.

The Spanish company continues to expand internationally in Africa and implement new photovoltaic integration projects. "Soon, it will install photovoltaic glass for Microsoft's headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. Thanks to this innovative technology, the technology giant has taken a step forward to achieve the 10 sustainable development goals set by the United Nations," the company The spokesperson said.

Onyx Solar’s photovoltaic glass was previously integrated into I&M Bank’s headquarters in Nairobi, thus building the largest photovoltaic skylight in Africa. This skylight consists of 2,200 square meters of amorphous photovoltaic glass, with varying degrees of transparency. Other projects in Africa include the photovoltaic facade of the National Bank of Egypt and the photovoltaic canopy at the Mohammed VI University of Technology in Morocco. Editor/XuNing、Design/XiaChangwang
