The main line of the Yantai-Xiangxi-Changyi Intercity Railway is 319.607 kilometers in length. There are 13 stations along the way. The total investment is 98.655 billion yuan, a large project of nearly 100 billion yuan. It happens to be located on the central axis of Jiangsu. Starting from Yancheng in Jiangsu, all the way to the south, until Yixing, along the way through Taizhou, Changzhou and other cities, forming a fast passenger transport corridor connecting northern Jiangsu, central Jiangsu, and southern Jiangsu, which is important for strengthening the integrated development of Jiangsu Province. To the north of Yancheng is Lianyungang, and further to the north, it enters Shandong. Therefore, the Yantai-Xizhou-Changyi Intercity Railway will also become an important channel connecting Shandong and the Yangtze River Delta, shortening the space-time distance between the two regions and speeding up the two Regional communication and exchanges are of great significance to the economic development of Shandong and the Yangtze River Delta.

It is reported that the Yantai-Taiwan-Changyi Intercity Railway is still in the planning stage and is expected to start construction at the end of 2021-the cross-river bridge.
