On June 28, 2021, French President Macron went to the Renault plant in Douai, a town in Upper France, and together with local officials announced the news that the Envision Power Company, a subsidiary of China Envision Technology Group, has invested in the construction of a power battery factory. It is reported that the total investment in this project is expected to reach 2 billion euros (approximately 15.37 billion yuan).

According to the currently announced plan, the plant will begin construction in 2022 and put into production in 2024 to provide power batteries for Renault and other brands of electric vehicles. Its target production capacity is to reach 24GWh (100 million watt-hours) by 2030, meeting the assembly demand of 400,000 to 500,000 electric vehicles each year. It is expected that when the initial production is achieved in 2024, this factory will create 1,000 local jobs, and by 2030, the number of jobs will reach 2,500. Bertrand, Chairman of the Upper France Regional Council, also expressed his gratitude to China Envision Technology Group for choosing to invest and build a factory here, and praised the project not only to boost local employment, but also to help the transformation and development of the automobile manufacturing industry.
