On July 6, 2021, the Yangluo International Port Water-Rail Combined Transport Promotion Conference hosted by the Wuhan Municipal Government with the theme of "Pivot Yangtze River Port Connected to the World" was held in Wuhan. Representatives of trade e-commerce and other enterprises attended the meeting. The second phase of the container water-rail transport project of Yangluo International Port will be opened for operation on August 1, 2021, forming an integrated pattern of "the same iron and port, the same operation, the same inspection, and the same information", and will eventually form 100 With a throughput of 10,000 TEUs and a combined water and rail transport volume of 500,000 TEUs, it has become the largest water and rail combined transport base on the Yangtze River.
Yangluo International Port Container Water-Rail Combined Transport Phase II
The second phase of the container water-rail combined transport at Yangluo International Port is one of the 12 key water-rail combined transport facilities of the national Yangtze River trunk port. The project is located in Yangluo Economic and Technological Development Zone, Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, with a total construction area of about 852 acres and a total investment of about 2.8 billion yuan. It mainly includes three major parts: terminal operation area, railway station area and subsidiary operation area. It is planned for 2022 All completed and put into use.
At the end of 2017, the first phase of the Yangluo water-rail combined transport project was put into operation. The existing railway line and freight station of Huaneng Group’s Yangluo Power Plant were used for reconstruction and expansion. 6.04 kilometers of tracks were laid, and the railway was directly connected to the container port, wharf and railway. The distance of the cargo yard is shortened to 2.5 kilometers.
It is understood that Yangluo Port has transferred nearly 90% of the import and export goods of Hubei Province, which has created a unique pattern of Hubei SINOTRANS relying on water transportation. According to Qiu Jincheng, the person in charge of the second phase of the container water-rail combined transport project at Yangluo International Port, Wuhan sits on the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, which connects the river to the sea; it is also one of the four major railway hubs in China.
Water-rail combined transportation can reduce the cost by half while greatly shortening the transportation time and improving the transportation efficiency. He said that the construction of a combined iron and water transport hub in Wuhan is of great significance to the completion of the logistics network layout of the entire central and western region. With the integration of traditional river-sea combined transport and China-Europe trains in the project, a new international logistics trade channel from Northeast Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia via Wuhan to Europe will be further opened up.
According to data, Wuhan's container throughput will exceed 1.93 million TEUs in 2020. The first direct container flight from Wuhan to Japan and the realization of liner transportation, the international transit intermodal function has been implemented; the car roll-on throughput exceeds 1 million vehicles, and it is China's third and largest automobile logistics distribution center in inland rivers. Zhang Lin, Secretary of the Work Committee of Wuhan Xingang and Director of the Management Committee, said that in the future, we must give full play to the function of the largest water-rail intermodal transportation hub in the inland, and accelerate the expansion to the hinterland markets such as the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River and central China; focus on the advantages of water-rail intermodal transportation and accelerate business logistics And regional allocation capacity building, make good use of Wuhan hub conditions; support the deployment of advanced manufacturing industries along the river and ports, accelerate the development of freight services for high value-added manufacturing industries, promote vertical industrial extension, cross-border integration, and promote port-industry-city integration development of.
