Papua New Guinea (PNG) is developing its national road network strategy, which will implement a road engineering plan across the country. The PNG government has set a budget of US$5.7 billion for the project.
The plan covers 15 road maintenance and improvement works. The four roads to be upgraded will connect Madang and Bayer and Compian, Madang and Lay and Finschhafen, Vanimo and Wewak and Madang and Lamu to Gembolg, Kundiawa, Karamui and Purari. Improving these four roads will promote transportation links between Madang, Morrobie Heights and East Sepik.
