TCL Huaxing T8 project officially starts construction
The TCL Huaxing T8 project officially started construction on October 21st, marking the world's first G8.6 generation printed OLED production line entering the construction phase. The TCL Huaxing T9 project, as the world's first G8.6 generation printed OLED production line with a total investment of 29.5 billion yuan, is jointly built by TCL Huaxing, Guangzhou Municipal Government, and Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee. It marks a major breakthrough in China's new display field, from "following" to "running in parallel" and then to "leading the department". The project adopts independent innovative printing OLED technology and uses intelligent means such as industrial robots and AI models to build a "new quality productivity" for the display industry. It will provide the market with advanced display products with advantages such as low blue light, wide color gamut, and colorless edges. The landing of the project in Guangzhou will further strengthen the advantages of the electronic information industry chain in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, drive the agglomeration and development of key materials, core equipment and other upstream and downstream enterprises, and form a complete printing OLED industry ecosystem. At present, the monthly processing capacity of glass substrates reaches 22500 pieces, which will prioritize meeting the high-end display needs of mid size devices such as monitors and laptops, and gradually expand to more high value-added application fields. The implementation of this project will significantly enhance China's voice in the global display industry, provide more competitive display solutions for downstream enterprises, and promote the global display technology to move towards a new stage.Editor/Cheng Liting

The world's largest high-voltage direct mounted energy storage project
Recently, the world's highest and largest high-voltage direct mounted energy storage system, the Huaneng Hainan State 150 MW/600 MWh energy storage project, was successfully connected to the grid and achieved full power operation in Hainan State, Qinghai Province at an altitude of 3000 meters. This project is invested and developed by Huaneng Qinghai Branch, and developed and constructed by Huaneng Qingneng Institute. The total installed capacity is 150 MW/600 MWh. It is a shared energy storage project on the grid side of three new energy projects newly built by Huaneng Qinghai Branch. The overall project adopts the 35 kV high-voltage direct hanging energy storage technology led by Qingneng Institute, with a single unit capacity of 25 MW/100 MWh. It can store 600000 kWh of electricity on a single charge and can independently accept grid regulation. It has the characteristics of high voltage level, large single unit capacity, few AC/DC parallel connections, and few communication levels. It does not require a power frequency transformer. On the basis of improving battery capacity utilization and reducing battery parallel safety risks, the system efficiency is improved by 4% to 6%, and it can achieve fast response within 10 milliseconds. In addition, to adapt to the special environment of Qinghai, the project has focused on correcting insulation and electrical clearances at high altitudes to ensure safe, stable, and efficient operation under high-altitude conditions. After the project is put into operation, it can effectively stabilize the fluctuation and intermittency of the output of new energy power stations, provide peak shaving, frequency regulation, power assistance and other services for the power grid, and effectively improve the quality and safety level of the power grid.
