On August 24, according to the "Response to Proposal No. 8D088 of the Fourth Session of the Eighth District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference" published on the website of the People's Government of Baoshan District, Shanghai, the plan for Shanghai North Station (Xinyanghang Station) has been determined.
basic situation
The original planned line of the Hutong Railway is "S7—G1503—Jiangyang North Road—Changjiang West Road Plan". The plan is to set up a passenger and freight intermodal station at Yanghang Marshalling Station (east of Jiangyang North Road, between Baoyang Road and Shuichan Road). Later, it was adjusted to the existing "S7-G1503-long tunnel across the river" scheme. On December 15, 2020, the second phase of the Shanghai-Tong Railway officially started construction, ranging from Waigaoqiao in Pudong New Area to Well No. 2 (Long Beach), Fujin East Road, Baoshan District.
The Shanghai-Tong Railway is a passenger and freight railway. When the State Railway Administration studied the overall layout of the Shanghai-Tong Railway and comprehensively balanced the station interval and opinions from all parties, only one freight station was set up in Xuhang, Jiading within Shanghai, and the station was not considered in Baoshan.

Beginning in 2017, in accordance with the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network in the National Medium- and Long-term Railway Network Planning (2016-2030), the National Railway Association and Shanghai Municipality have led the study of the construction plan for the Beiyanjiang Railway. The starting station of the Beiyanjiang Railway is located in Baoshan District, passing through Jiangsu and Anhui, arriving at the terminal Hefei South Railway Station.
The Baoshan District Committee and the District Government closely follow the development strategy of integrated transportation in the Yangtze River Delta, and have discussed with the State Railway Administration and the Municipal Transportation Commission and the Municipal Bureau of Planning and Capital in multiple rounds to form the basis for the "merging and joint construction" of the North Yanjiang Railway and the Shanghai-Tong Railway. It was determined to set up a joint station of Beiyanjiang Railway and Shanghai-Tong Railway—Xinyanghang Station on the south side of Fujin Road (G1503), east of Jiangyang North Road, and west of the Baosteel special line. Among them, the Beiyanjiang Railway adopts the form of an elevated station, and the Hutong Railway adopts an underground station. The construction scale is 8 units and 18 lines, which solves the problem of setting up the Hutong Railway and the Beiyanjiang Railway within the Baoshan area.
Since the Shanghai-Tong Railway is an underground station at Xinyanghang Station and cannot realize its freight function, the freight station still considers Xuxing in Jiading.
Next step plan
According to your suggestions, combined with the overall layout of the National Railway General Freight, combined with the North Yanjiang Railway and the Shanghai-Tong Railway’s EMUs within Luodian range (west of S7, east of Luoyunhe, and north of G1503), make full use of the collection of S7 and Hutai Road Streamline operations and consider arranging some freight functions to better serve the development of Baoshan's logistics industry.
In the future, Baoshan will become more and more important as the transportation hub of North Shanghai. After the completion of the Shanghai North Station (Xinyanghang Station), it will become a joint station for the North Yanjiang High-speed Railway and the Shanghai-Tong Railway, helping to further develop the regional integration of the Yangtze River Delta.
