Recently, the main tower "Magnolia" of Dongguan Binhai Bay Bridge, which was constructed by China Railway Baoqiao, successfully completed the installation of the first section of the steel tower. The slim "Magnolia" is about to "rise from the ground".

On the day of hoisting, under the traction of the D5200-240 tower crane, the largest tonnage tower crane in Asia, the T1 section of the first steel tower of the "Magnolia" main tower of the Marina Bay Bridge slowly rose. The T1 section of the steel section tower was successfully installed to the design position. It is understood that the total weight of the steel shell of the T1 section is about 289t, which is lifted in two stages of 128t+161t.

The main tower of the Bin Bay Bridge adopts a single-column steel shell concrete tower, shaped like the flower-magnolia flower of Dongguan City, with a total height of 149.8m and a height of 130m above the bridge deck. The structure of the steel tower is extremely complex. The section adopts the fitting method of fixed radius arc + tangent straight line + fixed radius arc, the inner tower wall adopts a rectangular structure, and the anchor box section adopts a single anchor box with three web elevators and separate stairs. In order to speed up the construction progress of the project, the main tower was assembled in stages, and the tower body was divided into 42 sections along the vertical direction. China Railway Baoqiao undertakes two parts, the steel box girder of the main bridge of Dongguan Binhai Bay Bridge and the steel shell of the cable tower, with a project volume of about 21,000 tons.Editor/Xing Wentao
