On January 28, 2021, the construction of the Fengqing General Airport project officially kicked off, marking the realization of the people’s dream of flying to heaven in Fengqing County.

Fengqing General Airport was constructed in accordance with the 2B general airport standards. A new runway with a length of 1800 meters and a width of 30 meters, 2 B parking bays, 3 helicopter bays, and necessary navigation lights, communications, weather and other supporting production Living rooms and facilities. The entire site filled 10.27 million cubic meters and excavated 11.41 million cubic meters. The total project investment budget was 787 million yuan.

The Fengqing General Airport project is expected to complete the earth and stone works in May 2021, and is expected to be completed and put into use in the second half of 2022. At present, 22 supporting professional reports have been completed for the feasibility study and preliminary design of the project, and a series of supporting projects such as land use, construction of temporary access roads for villagers in the site, settlement of mineral rights, and off-site drainage projects have been completed.

The start of construction of Fengqing General Airport will give the development of Fengqing wings to take off and lay the foundation for Lincang's comprehensive transportation network. After Fengqing General Airport is completed, Lincang will become the first city in Yunnan Province with three airports.
