At 21:29 on the evening of April 26, Tibet's first electrified railway, the full-line catenary of the Lalin Railway connecting Lhasa to Nyingchi, was successfully transmitted. This marked the completion of the electrification of the Lalin Railway and laid a solid foundation for the opening of the railway on June 30 this year.

At 20:17 that night, after receiving the general dispatch order at the Shannan Traction Substation of the Lalin Railway, the staff sent electricity to the catenary according to the switching order.

This time, the catenary received power from Xierong Station, Zanang Station, and Shannan Station to Nyingchi Station in turn. There are 11 substations and 23 power supply arms on the whole line. The entire power receiving process lasted 1 hour and 29 minutes.

Liu Yuxiang, Chief Engineer of the Four Electricity Project Headquarters of the Lalin Railway Route of the China Railway Electrification Bureau: According to the overall arrangement of the Tibet Railway Construction Co., Ltd., the power transmission of the Lalin line will be carried out tonight.

Up to now, the Catenary of the Lalin Line is fully charged, and the power transmission is successful at one time, which is equivalent to the completion of the electrification of the Lalin Railway. It provides prerequisites for the next hot slip test and dynamic detection, and also lays a solid foundation for the opening and operation.

A total of 540 kilometers of catenary lines have been erected across the Lalin Railway. Since the electrification construction started on July 29, 2018, more than 1,600 people have participated in the construction. In order to reduce the influence of the special environment of the plateau on the electrification construction, the staff independently developed an automatic processing platform for the steel hanging string used for the load bearing between the load-bearing cable and the wire.

The national key project Lalin Railway has a total length of 435.5 kilometers, and the newly-built main line has a total length of 403.1 kilometers. It is a single-track electrified Class I railway with a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour. It can connect the three important cities of Tibet, Lhasa, Shannan, and Nyingchi, promote economic development along the route, promote the construction of new urbanization, and inject new vitality into the economic and social development of Tibet.Editor/Baohongying
