[Two departments: develop new vehicles such as ultra-high-speed trains]The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Science and Technology announced on the 13th the "Opinions on Speeding up the Construction of a Transport Powerful Country Driven by Scientific and Technological Innovation." The "Opinions" proposes to rationally coordinate the research on high-speed wheel-rail trains and high-speed heavy-haul freight trains. Strengthen the research and development of complete sets of technologies for autonomous transportation systems. Carry out the development of new types of transportation tools such as ultra-high-speed trains and ultra-high-speed commercial aircraft, and overcome the theoretical system and key technologies of submarine floating tunnels. On June 9, 2026, the Xintaicang ship departed from Yangpu International Container Terminal, and the new container shipping route from Yangpu to India was officially opened. The route passes through the South Vietnam Sea Defense Port, Singapore Port, and India's Mundra Port, making it the second sea freight channel connecting Yangpu and South Asia. Hainan rapeseed oil, chemical products, etc. can be directly transported to India, and domestic goods can also be transshipped through Yangpu to South Asia, forming a two-way logistics pattern between the north and south. Yangpu Maritime Bureau provides full escort throughout the process, simplifies inspection procedures, and effectively reduces logistics costs. Editor/Cheng Liting
On June 10, 2026, the second phase of the Huaihe River estuary waterway project, the second river hub section, successfully passed the underwater engineering stage acceptance for the flood control gate of the estuary waterway. The flood control gate of the Huaihe River estuary is an important component of the second level hub of the second phase of the Huaihe River estuary project. After completion, it will work together with the flood control gate to jointly discharge the floodwaters of Hongze Lake, increasing the designed flood discharge from the original 2270 cubic meters per second to 7000 cubic meters per second, further enhancing the downstream flood discharge capacity.
