  • [China Construction Group wins bid for Dubai high-end complex project]
  • China State Construction Engineering Corporation recently signed a contract with Emaar Properties in the United Arab Emirates to construct the Address Residences Zabeel high-end complex in Zabeel, Dubai. The project includes four towers ranging from 50 to 58 floors, providing over 1700 residential units, 2600 square meters of commercial space, and 2000 parking spaces. It is planned to be completed in 2027. This cooperation comes at a time when the Dubai real estate market is booming. Emaar's annual report shows that its revenue in 2024 reached 19.1 billion dirhams (approximately 5.2 billion US dollars), a year-on-year increase of 61%. According to official data from the United Arab Emirates, the total value of real estate transactions in the country has exceeded 893 billion dirhams. Professional institutions predict that, driven by investment in infrastructure and tourism projects, the average annual growth rate of the UAE construction industry will reach 3.9% from 2025 to 2027. This project marks the continuous improvement of China Construction's competitiveness in the international high-end construction market, and is also the latest example of deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and Arab countries. • [World leading Tibetan Guangdong ultra-high voltage direct current project launched]
  • The ± 800 kV high-voltage direct current transmission project from southeastern Tibet to the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area has officially started construction. This world-class power project is planned to be fully operational by 2029, with a total investment of approximately 53.2 billion yuan and a supporting power base investment of over 150 billion yuan. The total length of the transmission line of the project is 2681km, spanning four provinces and regions of Xizang, Yunnan, Guangxi and Guangdong, with a rated transmission capacity of 10 million kilowatts. After completion, the project can deliver over 43 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually to the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, equivalent to half of the annual power generation of the Three Gorges Dam. It can replace about 12 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 33 million tons. As a key project in China's 14th Five Year Plan, the Tibet Guangdong DC project faces multiple technical challenges such as 4300 meter ultra-high altitude power transmission and crossing plateau hills. The project will apply new technologies such as digital twins and artificial intelligence to create a demonstration project for digital transformation. The project will not only optimize China's energy allocation and promote green development, but also drive direct employment of more than 100000 people, promote the economic development of Xizang, and consolidate China's technological leadership in the international power industry.
