Recently, the construction of the supporting dangerous goods container yard project for berths 5 and 6 in the Shihu operating area of Quanzhou Port has officially started, marking the substantive promotion stage of this key project to enhance the safety operation capability of the port area. It will provide key support for the modernization and upgrading of the "Song Yuan Ancient Port". As the core supporting facilities of the 100000 ton berth group in the Shihu operation area, the hazardous goods container yard to be started this time is located in the southeast of the land area of the port, south of Weisan Road and west of Jingjiu Road. It adopts a fully enclosed management mode to strengthen the safety defense line. The total construction area of the project is approximately 13369 square meters, of which the main body of the dedicated yard is 97 meters long and 65 meters wide, with an area of 6305 square meters. After completion, it can accommodate 116 TEU dangerous goods containers for stacking. In order to meet the strict standards for the storage and transportation of dangerous goods, the yard will simultaneously plan and construct facilities such as a gatekeeper control room, emergency exits, accident water tanks, and dedicated emergency treatment sites. It will be equipped with a cooling water sprinkler system and four 25 meter high lightning rod towers, as well as supporting construction of surrounding roads, water supply and drainage, power supply and communication networks, to comprehensively build a safety guarantee system.Editor/Bian Wenjun

The project is located in the factory of Qibin Photovoltaic New Materials (Malaysia) Co., Ltd. in Sabah.
