[PKN ORLEN partners with Alstom on hydrogen railway] On May 20, 2022, PKN ORLEN signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Alstom to provide zero-emission, environmentally friendly trains and hydrogen fuel for public rail transport. The company has been implementing a hydrogen strategy, announcing in 2022 that it will provide the fueling infrastructure for trains produced by Alstom. • The core equipment of the Yangshan Island offshore converter station in Yangjiang set sail from Nantong, Jiangsu, heading towards the Yangjiang sea area in Guangdong. The world's first new type of converter valve with energy self balancing function has officially entered the offshore installation stage. This equipment is developed by Changzhou Borui Electric Power and will be applied to the world's largest offshore wind power direct current transmission project. The project is scheduled to be put into operation in October 2025 and can provide approximately 6 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity to the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area annually, significantly reducing regional carbon emissions.
