[PKN ORLEN partners with Alstom on hydrogen railway]On May 20, 2022, PKN ORLEN signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Alstom to provide zero-emission, environmentally friendly trains and hydrogen fuel for public rail transport. The company has been implementing a hydrogen strategy, announcing in 2022 that it will provide the fueling infrastructure for trains produced by Alstom. Recently, the investment agreement for the Suichuan Pumped Storage Power Station project in Jiangxi Province was officially signed. This project is a key energy project of the 14th Five Year Plan period in China, with a total investment of 7.74 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts. The signing and implementation of the contract marks the substantial construction stage of the project. Government and enterprises simultaneously signed two energy cooperation agreements, laying a solid foundation for project construction. The Jiguanling Tunnel in Xiangjiaba Irrigation District and the Lijiazui Tunnel in Tingzikou Irrigation District have recently been connected, marking significant achievements in Sichuan's water conservancy project acceleration year. Faced with complex geology, the project team overcame construction bottlenecks through processes such as intelligent monitoring, drilling and blasting, and mechanical integration. After the completion of the two major projects, it will benefit over 4 million people in southern and northeastern Sichuan, and add nearly 2 million acres of irrigated area. By 2026, Sichuan plans to complete a water conservancy investment of 71.6 billion yuan, and the main framework of the six horizontal and six vertical water network is accelerating its formation.
