[PKN ORLEN partners with Alstom on hydrogen railway] On May 20, 2022, PKN ORLEN signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Alstom to provide zero-emission, environmentally friendly trains and hydrogen fuel for public rail transport. The company has been implementing a hydrogen strategy, announcing in 2022 that it will provide the fueling infrastructure for trains produced by Alstom. • In August 2026, Inner Mongolia Energy Group Baotou Xiguitu Power Generation Phase II 1 × 600000 kW new generation coal-fired power pilot demonstration project officially started construction. The total investment of this project is 2.544 billion yuan, and it is the first unit in the autonomous region to receive national approval for thermal power energy conservation. It is planned to be put into operation in 2028. As the core regulating support power source of Mengxi Power Grid, the project will solve the problem of large-scale wind and solar power consumption and promote the integration of wind, solar, thermal and storage.
