  • [Elo Energy's 5MWh energy storage system has passed UL's rigorous explosion test]
  • SolaX Power recently announced that its ORI 5MWh energy storage system has successfully completed full-scale system level detonation testing under the guidance of UL Solutions. This test is conducted based on the UL 9540A: 2025 draft framework and is UL's first system level deflagration assessment worldwide. The test intentionally triggered thermal runaway of the battery cell in a controlled environment and kept the ventilation system closed, fully simulating the extreme process of combustible gas release, accumulation, and even detonation. The test scenario is designed based on high demand parameters, with the ignition point set at a location that may exacerbate pressure and flame turbulence. In the end, the system structure remained intact and successfully passed the strict thermal runaway safety verification.Editor/Yang Meiling
