[Netherlands to build 10 GW national green hydrogen network]Dutch state-owned gas infrastructure specialist Gasunie has announced plans to create a national network system linking the supply and demand of carbon-free hydrogen. The network will have an initial capacity of 10 gigawatts, and its construction will require an investment of around 1.5 billion euros. Editor/Xing Wentao
On June 25, 2026, the Zhejiang Tiantai Pumped Storage Power Station with a total installed capacity of 1.7 million kilowatts was put into operation. This power station is the world's highest rated head and the largest single unit capacity pumped storage power station in China. It is also the first pumped storage project to be put into operation during the 15th Five Year Plan period. Constructed by Three Gorges Group, we have overcome a series of ultra-high water head technologies and achieved breakthroughs in the localization of multiple materials and construction equipment. The power station can provide 1.7 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, strengthen the regulation capacity of Zhejiang power grid, and assist in the consumption of new energy and the green transformation of energy.Editor/Gong Ziwei
On June 27, 2026, the artificial solar project of the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Hefei Institute of Material Sciences made the latest progress. Two sets of key superconducting magnets for fusion reactors, including the toroidal field superconducting magnet and the high-temperature superconducting center solenoid coil, have successively completed the development acceptance and full parameter testing. The core technology has achieved 100% localization, and the comprehensive performance has jumped to the forefront of the world. The magnet is 21 meters long, 12 meters wide, and 3.3 meters high, with a total weight of 582 tons. Its volume is 1.3 times that of the International Thermonuclear Reactor (ITER) TF magnet, and its energy storage capacity is three times that of it. It is currently the largest superconducting magnet for fusion reactors in the world.Editor/Gong Ziwei
