On July 30, 2026, the supporting river crossing project at the receiving end of the Kubuqi Desert Base Power Transmission Project in Inner Mongolia officially started construction in Chongming, Shanghai. The cross river tunnel is a crucial node in the project and is planned to be completed by the end of 2030.
