• On December 1, 2023, the preliminary design of the Weisu High Speed Railway to Qingdao Connection Line project was jointly approved by China Railway Group, the People's Government of Shandong Province, and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, marking another step away from construction. The connection line between Weisu High Speed Railway and Qingdao starts from Yanghekou Station on the Qingyan Railway and introduces the planned Weisu High Speed Railway Wulian North Station, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The total length of the line is 108.8 kilometers, of which the Qingdao section is 53.2 kilometers. After the completion of the project, it will form another fast track southward in Qingdao, which is conducive to promoting the development of regions such as the Shanghai Cooperation Demonstration Zone and the Qingdao Pilot Free Trade Zone.
