[Mauritania signs $34 billion green hydrogen project] An international consortium with German participation has signed an agreement with the Mauritanian government for a $34 billion green hydrogen project with up to 10GW of electrolyser capacity. An international consortium with German participation has reportedly signed an agreement with the Mauritanian government for a $34 billion green hydrogen project with up to 10GW of electrolyser capacity. The newspaper cited Conjuncta, a German company involved in the project, as saying the project would have a production capacity of up to 8 million tonnes per year of ammonia or other hydrogen-based end products. The first phase of the project will be located northeast of Nouakchott, the coastal capital of West Africa, and is expected to be completed in 2028 with a planned capacity of 400MW. Egyptian energy provider Infinity and the United Arab Emirates' Masdar are also involved in the project. Congutta CEO Stefan Liebing said: "There will be strong ties with Germany as a technology supplier and potential buyer of green energy. Germany has been trying to boost its renewable energy capacity in recent days to offset Russia's fuel imports and meet climate goals. In December 2022, Berlin approved the construction of the country's first hydrogen pipeline network. Editor/Xu Shengpeng

It is reported that the deck cargo ship "Green Source No.1" has a total tonnage of 6731, a net tonnage of 3769, a length of 125.8 meters, and a width of 28 meters. The ship adopts a single-layer deck design, which can carry more than 160 new energy vehicles on a single voyage under full load conditions. The parking capacity is about 60% higher than that of existing passenger and roll on/roll off transport ships. The ship is planned to be deployed on the route from Hai'an New Port in Zhanjiang to Xiuying Port in Haikou. After being put into operation, it will add a new mode of sea transportation for new energy vehicles in the Qiongzhou Strait and effectively alleviate the tense situation of insufficient capacity for new energy vehicle transportation during the peak period of cross sea vehicle transportation in the Qiongzhou Strait.
