[Karachi Water Supply Pipeline Project in Pakistan Commences]Recently, the construction ceremony of the Karachi 4 water supply pipeline project in Pakistan, undertaken by China Harbour and participated by China Communications Second Navigation Bureau, was held in Karachi. The entire project spans two administrative districts, Karachi and Tata, in Sindh Province, Pakistan. The CCCC Second Navigation Bureau is responsible for two sections, PL1 and PL2, with a total length of 111.7 kilometers. The main construction content includes excavation and backfilling of pipeline pits, steel pipe processing, welding, and installation. The project is one of the key projects along the the Belt and Road and the largest urban infrastructure and livelihood project currently promoted by the Pakistani government. After the completion of the project, it will effectively alleviate the shortage of water resources, poor water quality and other problems in Karachi, and solve the water problem of more than 20 million people in Karachi. On April 3, 2026, the domestically developed maximum diameter 13.2-meter hard rock TBM by CCCC Tianhe started construction in Changshu. The machine is equipped with 7600 domestically produced rare earth special steel main bearings developed by the Institute of Metals, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with a rated life of over 15000 hours and performance exceeding imports. At the Export to China SCO Choice Forum, Kazakh companies signed a $125 million agricultural export agreement with Chinese partners. Changsha Kaliev, the Minister of Trade of Kazakhstan, led a delegation to visit Shandong to deepen industrial and logistics cooperation. As the largest trading partner, the bilateral trade volume between China and Kazakhstan is expected to increase from 41 billion US dollars in 2023 to 48.7 billion US dollars in 2025, with Shandong's trade volume reaching 2.2 billion US dollars.
