[South Africa: Install 18GW of renewable energy generation projects by 2030] South Africa is one of the best places in the world to develop photovoltaic projects due to its abundant photovoltaic power resources. The country has set a target of installing 18GW of renewable energy generation facilities by 2030, and photovoltaic systems are expected to make up a large part of that target. The South African Government's Renewable Energy Independent Generator Procurement Program (REIPPP) has been successful in attracting investment and supporting the development of photovoltaic projects in the country. The Renewable Energy Independent Generator Procurement Program (REIPPP) launched its sixth bid window in April 2022. The goal is to add 2,600MW of renewable energy to South Africa's energy mix. Meanwhile, South Africa's national energy regulator NERSA approved the establishment of 15 independent power generators in May 2022 and June 2022. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
