[Yunnan Public Welfare Forest Project Commences] Recently, the pilot project of the Yangtze River Protection Public Welfare Forest in Wudongde Jinba District, Luquan County, Kunming City has officially started. The project plans to have a total investment of 200 million yuan and will be implemented in five phases. The investment for this phase is 29.8 million yuan, including plant planting, seedling irrigation, gully management, and electrical engineering construction. After the completion of the project, it can increase the area of forest land and vegetation coverage, enhance the soil and water conservation capacity of mountainous slopes, slow down local gully debris flow disasters, and help improve the vegetation restoration and ecological environment quality of the reservoir area. The operation, lifespan, and safety production of the Wudongde Hydropower Station reservoir area will have significant comprehensive ecological benefits. To provide new opportunities for the development of resources in the old, young, border, and poor areas of Yunnan and Sichuan provinces along the Yangtze River, and for the improvement of local people's lives. The demonstration forest area of the pilot village of this project is located on both sides of the external traffic road on the right bank of the Wudongde Hydropower Station, and is a gateway node for entering and exiting the Wudongde Hydropower Station. The construction of public welfare forests will sort out the barren mountains and wasteland suitable for forestry, showcase the project area's unique features and local red cultural resources, showcase the achievements of vegetation ecological restoration in the reservoir area, and play a demonstration and driving role in the construction of beautiful Wudongde.   • On the afternoon of October 8th, under the on-site escort of the Guangdong Zhanjiang Maritime Bureau's "Haixun 0927" ship, the first flatbed cargo ship dedicated to the transportation of new energy vehicles in the Qiongzhou Strait, the "Green Source No. 1" ship, slowly entered the Xuwen Hai'an New Port, marking the successful trial operation of the ship's roll on/roll off transport route in the Qiongzhou Strait. It is reported that the deck cargo ship "Green Source No.1" has a total tonnage of 6731, a net tonnage of 3769, a length of 125.8 meters, and a width of 28 meters. The ship adopts a single-layer deck design, which can carry more than 160 new energy vehicles on a single voyage under full load conditions. The parking capacity is about 60% higher than that of existing passenger and roll on/roll off transport ships. The ship is planned to be deployed on the route from Hai'an New Port in Zhanjiang to Xiuying Port in Haikou. After being put into operation, it will add a new mode of sea transportation for new energy vehicles in the Qiongzhou Strait and effectively alleviate the tense situation of insufficient capacity for new energy vehicle transportation during the peak period of cross sea vehicle transportation in the Qiongzhou Strait.
