[Longlong High speed Railway Wumeijiang Extra Large Bridge Starts Construction] On the morning of December 28, 2023, the construction of the Meijiang Extra Large Bridge on the Wuping Meizhou section of the Longlong High Speed Railway began, marking the official start of the construction of the Wuping Meizhou section of the Longlong High Speed Railway. The Wumei section is an intermediate component of the Longlong high-speed railway, located in Fujian and Guangdong provinces, roughly running in a north-south direction, with a total length of about 102 kilometers and a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour. The line starts from Wuping Station of Longlong High Speed Railway, passes through Wuping County of Longyan City, Jiaoling County, Meixian District, and Meijiang District of Meizhou City, and leads to the existing Meizhou West Station of Meishan High Speed Railway, connecting with the Meizhou to Longchuan section of Longlong High Speed Railway. The Wumei section of the Longlong high-speed railway is equipped with four stations: Jiaoling, Yanyangxi, Meizhou, and Meizhou West. The entire line will commence construction in the first half of 2024. At present, the Longyan to Wuping section of the Longlong high-speed railway has been put into operation on December 26, 2023, and the Meizhou to Longchuan section is planned to be completed and opened to traffic in the second half of 2024.
