On June 28, 2020, Shandong Power Construction Sichuan Company successfully won the bid for the B section of the main project construction of the 2×350 MW coal-fired power station project in Sihanoukville, Cambodia under the national Belt and Road initiative. (Building installation of Unit 2 production system). This bidding is another gain of Shandong Power Construction Sichuan Company following this year’s bidding for the Equatorial Guinea Malabo gas turbine expansion construction project. It is an important achievement in the implementation of the "international priority" and implementation of the "going out" strategy. The market development has added another strong color.

It is understood that the project is located in the northeast of Sihanoukville, the capital of Cambodia. It is planned to build two 350-megawatt supercritical coal-fired units, supporting the construction of a 8000-ton coal berth and a 2,000-ton heavy heavy berth. The unit will be completed and put into operation at the end of 2022, with an annual power generation capacity of 4.6 billion kWh, making it the largest coal-fired power generation project in Cambodia to date. The completion and commissioning of the power plant will effectively alleviate the power shortage situation in Cambodia and further promote local economic and social development.

In addition, the project is the first cooperation project between Shandong Power Construction Sichuan Company and Huadian Hong Kong Company. Shandong Power Construction Sichuan Company will use this cooperation as an opportunity to strengthen project construction and management, build international quality projects, establish an international brand image, continue to expand the international market, and build a new situation in international business development!
